Protea & Banskia
Protea’s and Banksias are very unusual flowers, noted for their long lasting ability in floral arrangements.

Native to Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia, they prefer an arid yet most climate as in fog or dew, but can be grown in most warm climates.

This particular variety comes from an area in South Africa called Fynbos.

Leaves are very large trimmed in a beautiful red/orange, somewhat woody stems, very sturdy, with huge flowers. Each pedal is trimmed in a feathery white with bright orange red to wine red. This is only one of hundreds of varieties of Protea’s.

Banksias are also long lasting and this particular variety is round with soft petals going from yellow to orange to purple at the end. Beautiful unusual flowers with long pointed branching leaves.
